7 weeks old - Davis

Davis you are a dream! 

Davis continues to sleep and eat like a champ. He doesn't fuss too much, as long as he is rested and fed. I don't know his weight yet, but he is fitting into his 3 month clothes so we know he is growing. 

He is cooing a little bit and gives me a biggest, gummiest smiles - ahhh. 

We had our first witching hour last night, but I put him in the Ergo while cooking dinner and he passed out. I remember lots of evenings like that with Hunter and Wyatt so I expected it would be coming eventually. Hopefully it wont be a regular occurrence ;)

Halloween 2016

I wasn't sure what Halloween was going to look like this year since we didn't know when Davis would arrive. It ended up being so much fun! Hunter was Daniel the Tiger, Wyatt was a Lion, and Davis was Frankenstein. We visited the library for a haunted house, trick or treated downtown, and went to a Halloween party at Aunt Mames house. 

Hunter's favorite part of the holiday was passing out candy to our trick or treaters. The next morning the first thing he asked me was if he could go pass out candy to the trick or treaters - I had to explain that the holiday was over...womp, womp. I got lots of "why mommy?" "Is it still spooky outside?" I love his little mind at this age.

Two weeks old

Davis is two weeks old and doing great! He loves to eat and sleep and has started keeping his eyes open a little longer in between his naps. He even looks around at pictures on the walls and random things around the house (flowers!). 

I'm not sure how much he weighs, but he is definitely gaining, as he seems to fill out his newborn sleepers more. 

He still wakes 1-2 times a night (around 1:30am and 4:30am) to feed and is a dream baby. 

His eyes are very blue and his fuzzy head is looking blonder. He's had one bath (hated it!) and just started sitting in his bouncer.

He is perfect and we LOVE him ❤️

He is calm, adorable mix of the big boys, and a champion breastfeeder so far.

Celebrating 8 Years

Happy anniversary, Robert! 

We celebrated 8 years of marriage today. I remember when that number sounded so big, but it feels like I blinked and here we are. 

Here are 8 things I love about Robert:

1. Rarely are you in a bad mood. 

2. You are always supportive to me. 

3. The way you center your life around the kids and me. Your presence is felt and we lovvvve having Daddy around. 

4. You keep life simple and don't stress about the small stuff. You know what is important. 

5. You will eat anything I cook for you, without complaint. During this pregnancy I have lost all creativity in the kitchen, but you never say anything. 

6. You soft tickle me even though you hate it (that's love!)

7. The motivation and passion for your job impresses me. You have a strong work ethic. 

8. You are simply a loving husband and father. 

Reflecting on our 11 years total together, I feel grateful to have you as my partner in this busy life. Love you!

PS:  Robert is asleep and I have been in labor for three hours (he has no idea). Cheers to baby TRES, who will be here very soon!

Baby Brunching

Thank you, Oma, for organizing a baby brunch with my sissies! And thank you all for the cute gifts and for making me feel special. The food was yummy and we can't wait for meet this little man. 

Chef Hunter

Sunday night dinner, courtesy of Chef Hunter! Hunter is such a helper in the kitchen and gets sooo excited when I ask him if he wants to help make a meal. I rolled out fresh dough for him and he took it from there! Black olives are a favorite if his, so he especially likes to decorate with those.

He had so much fun, after dinner I offered to make scones with him for breakfast the next day and he was all smiles. We made pumpkin spice scones with maple icing (he calls it ice cream). 👌🏻

At bedtime he gave me the biggest hug and kiss and was so happy about waking up to scones in the morning. Glad we have an activity we can do together that he loves so much :)
