Weekend Snaps

Friday night dinner at the Taylor's. Raymond loves Hunter and wasn't shy with the hugs and kisses! How fun to see these three walking around like big kids. Feels like yesterday they were all the size of burritos lined up on a yoga mat --> click here
Violet is amazing! She can juggle all three kids.
Showing off his skills.
On Saturday we met up with some friends in San Mateo for the Bacon Brew Fest. Though I am not a bacon fan and can't drink beer, it was fun! There were a ton of food trucks with options other than bacon (or beer) and the weather was perfect. We laid a blanket out, ate some good food, and soaked up the sun.

Every night.

Sunday we headed to farmers market and stocked up on some groceries. Hunter enjoyed all the free samples of fruit and people watching :)

Baby #2 - 21 Weeks

I think it's time to invest in work maternity clothes. I am still wearing my regular pants and tops, but things are beginning to feel pulled and not fitting great. I am hungry all the time these days and it's kind of embarrassing! I am constantly eating at work and seem insatiable. Let's hope that passes soon - I am running out of food ideas.
Now that we know its a boy we have started talking about names. With Hunter we both instantly loved the name so it was easy and the conversation was over pretty early on in my pregnancy. This time around we have a lot of names we both love, but the challenge is choosing a name that works well with Hunter's name. We haven't had time to really sit down and list out names yet.

not the greatest picture at 6am
As far as sleep is concerned, I started waking up at 2/3am (nooo!). I remember this last pregnancy and it only got worse. I am hoping it's just a fluke.

Whats baby up to?
Baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — about the size of a carrot. You may soon feel like he's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to his activity as you get to know him better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now.

Weekend Fun

We headed to Monterey for Harper's 3rd birthday celebration at MyMuseum - so fun! I wish we had something like this in Palo Alto. Sometimes on the weekends we want to take Hunter somewhere that is safe, fun, and not a fortune
Hunter is still little so he didn't play with much, but he did drive a boat and slide down the slide with Oma. He also practiced his walking skills with Opa! I can see his confidence growing - he'll be running around in no time.
Thank you Quincey for Hunter's awesome outfit!

Cake Outtakes

Someone doesn't like grass or touching frosting.
I took SO MANY PINK PHOTOS. We had a lot of cute ones too, so I had to share.

Little Brother

Hello sweet face (staring at camera).
He is measuring right on track for February 4th. All of his limbs, chambers, and parts are intact. If he is anything like his brother, we'll have a February 3rd baby :)

Baby #2 is a......

Shocked is a understatement!
Our ultrasound tech told us at 12 weeks she predicted girl - and these days the predictions are usually right because the picture is so clear. We've been calling the baby a she, talking about girls names, browsing girls clothes online, and I even went as far to take WAY more pictures of Hunter eating the pink frosted cake rather than the blue (we did both colors just in case...).
Right before walking into our appointment I had a nagging thought in the back of my head about how crazy it would be if my doctor miraculously said "it's a boy!" Obviously, having a girl would be just as exciting, but thinking about Hunter and a little brother so close in age just made my heart happy.
Well, it turns out Robert was thinking the same thing. After the appointment, we sat in the car and confessed that we both had the same thoughts going into our appointment but that we didn't want to admit it.

I guess it's time to start thinking about boy names, huh?
Can't wait to meet you baby boy!

Blue or Pink?

We find out on Friday if Hunter is going to have a little brother or little sister. He went for the blue cake first - hah!
What do you predict?

Baby #2 - 20 Weeks!

Halfway there!
I am finally feeling pregnant these days. My work clothes are getting snug and I am getting comments here and there about my belly that's definitely popped. Dresses are my best friend and I catch myself holding the belly and clutching my back when standing too long. I am having to get up more often to walk during the days I am sitting in my office in front of the computer.
Baby is kicking away and rolling around, which always makes pregnancy sweet. It's fun to unwind at the end of the day and watch he/she poke around in there. Can't wait to see all your limbs on Friday, baby2

Baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He/she is also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — about the size of a banana. He/she is swallowing more these days, which is good practice for the digestive system.

We have a WALKER!

Tonight after dinner Hunter took his first steps! He is very wobbly, but he did it!
Of course once I got my phone out to take a video he was tired guy and ready for bed, but here are a couple videos I captured. You can also hear Hunter speaking his own language around the 26 second mark on the first video - hilarious.

Growing Some Muscle

Today we saw baby #2 move from the outside and Robert felt him/her too - double whammy! He/she is really active tonight and it feels good. I've been feeling movement for weeks now, but it's all been very random and gentle. Seems as though there HAS been a growth spurt in the last week and this baby is getting strong!
Here are some random pictures of Hunter from last night and today.
This guy was so pooped, he went to bed at 5:45pm. Let's hope he doesnt wake us up at 4am :)

Happiest kid ever.

Baby #2 - 19 Weeks

I've been feeling a lot of growing pains this week and am noticing some back pain. I can tell this baby is growing, which makes me happy. I was finally able to make it to yoga last night and it was glorious! My teacher remembered me and it was really nice to catch up and be back :)
Other than that and the expected exhaustion, not much else is new. I have to say, though my pregnancy updates are boring, I am thankful to have had relatively easy pregnancies. I am still able to eat, exercise (if only I actually did), and carry Hunter around and for that I am thankful.

awful photo at 6am

What's new with baby #2?
Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of an heirloom tomato. Her/his arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her/his body now. Your baby's sensory development is exploding! The brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch.

Wedding Fun - Jillian and Darren!

This weekend we attended Jillian and Darren's wedding - it was gorgeous! I got to catch up with our friend Molly, as well as, meet lots of crazy Irish people.
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for babysitting Hunter while we were gone :))

Palo Alto Zoo

We took Hunter to the "zoo" here. It was more like a museum with a few animal exhibits. I think initially I was the most excited about going, but Hunter and Robert ended up having a blast too!

Baby #2 - 18 Weeks

Nearing the halfway point here - whew! This week has been pretty uneventful on the pregnancy front. I am feeling more energy, sleeping great (falling asleep at 9pm and waking up at 6:45am, when Hunter starts singing), and eating just fine. I have a doctors appointment on Friday for a heartbeat check, so I am looking forward to hearing the little heartbeat. I still haven't made it to my prenatal yoga class and I am feeling guilty about that! I loved my yoga class so much and am making a real effort to go this Sunday for the 10am class. It seems that something always comes up during my class times, so I have put reminders on my calendar to avoid this.
Off to watch some TV with Robert, he finally has a break from school so I am going to take advantage!
