Baby #2 - 35 Weeks

..and 35 days to go.

This week we discussed names and managed to cut our list of thirteen names in half - I'd call that progress. We are also getting closer to buying a new car, so we are slowly but surely moving in the right direction.
I came down with a cold and also experienced my first migraine - ouch. Now I know what auras look like and hope to never experience them again. Also, my left hand went numb during all of this which was pretty alarming. After a quick call to the doctor and lots of water and sleep, I am feeling a little better. I had my coworker check my blood pressure this morning and all is good there, so I am hoping it was a one time thing.

What's the baby up to?
Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (about the size of a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Christmas 2014, part III

Christmas was busy this year! Chasing after a toddler with all of the presents, decorations, and food prep while eight months pregnant was a new experience, but overall we did pretty good. He didn't seem too interested in the tree, but everything else (kitchen drawers, cabinets, decorations, etc.) seemed to catch his eye. The best outlet? Running free on the golf course! Hunter loved running crazy out there and burning off all that energy.
It's fun and chaotic watching all the kids dig into the Christmas gifts, as there is no real method to the madness. I can only imagine what next year will bring with two more babies in the house! Thank you Oma and Opa for letting us take over your house and for hosting a nice Christmas Day :)

Christmas 2014, part II

Christmas Eve we started off with an ugly Christmas sweater party at Auntie Mames house. The kids made gingerbread houses while we all enjoyed a yummy breakfast and coffee. We headed over the Gramie and Grandpa's for gifts around 3pm and ended Christmas Eve with dinner and more gifts at Nonnie and Grandpa's!

Baby #2 - 34 Weeks

Merry Christmas Eve!
One more week down and I am happy to be spending this one with family. Leading up to Christmas has been a blur this year with all the activities going on, but I am excited the big day is here and can't wait to see Hunter experience Christmas as a toddler. He is still a little young, but more ready for Santa this year than he was last year.

hello big belly
In pregnancy news, I am feeling so ready to have the baby, but at the same time not ready at all. I hate complaining, but this time around the third trimester has exhausted every part of me and I am ready to feel like myself again. Insomnia and back pain have officially kicked in and I usually wake up around 2-3am, pain and dizziness seem to be daily.
Makes for long days, but with three-ish more weeks until maternity leave and Robert being done with school, I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
See 34 weeks last time here.

What's the baby up to?
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (about the size of a cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well.
By this week, fatigue has probably set in again (yep), though maybe not with the same coma-like intensity of your first trimester. Your tiredness is perfectly understandable, given the physical strain you're under and the restless nights (yep) of frequent pee breaks and tossing and turning, while trying to get comfortable.
Now's the time to slow down and save up your energy for labor day. If you've been sitting or lying down for a long time (I wish), don't jump up too quickly. Blood can pool in your feet and legs, causing a temporary drop in your blood pressure when you get up that can make you feel dizzy (yep).

Park date

Last time Hunter went to this park he cried as soon as I set him down. This time he was running away from me and didn't want to leave. Amazing what a month difference makes.

Saturday with Hunter

5am chats
waving goodbye (almost got it..)
popped into See's for a sample
balanced it out with some green juice

sweetness
loved the park
Hunter and I had an adventurous day today running errands/shopping, having a lunch and park date, and ending the afternoon/evening with crazy tasmanian-beast-like behavior. He is getting WILD and I am getting terrified. Mobile Hunter can run faster than pregnant Anna, yikes.
His cute smiles and bedtime hugs sure make it all worth it. I love this kid.
