The Sweetest Sicky and Other Hunter-isms

Can we just talk about how sweet Hunter has been recently? He has been sick - terrible fever, sweats, chills, hardly sleeping, and a cough. It is so sad! But throughout this week of sickness, he has been so polite and sweet. As much as I hate seeing him sick (and being stuck inside watching cartoons all day), I am loving his attitude.

For my own memory, I have to document these things, especially since age three is approaching rapidly and I may need this for my sanity.

-Hunter asks me to lay in bed with him before his nap/bedtime to read the same two books: Ten Apples Up on Top and Brown Bear, Brown Bear.
-He almost always says thank you. This is big for me since I feel like I push "please" and "thank you's" on both kids a million times a day. Makes me feel good to hear thank you from my two year old, even when I am not expecting it.
-He is obsessed with the measuring tape right now and takes it with him everywhere. He took it to the dentist office so he could show the doctor his "nammers" (numbers). He asks me to help him measure everything: his toe, his foot, Cooper, etc. It's so sweet.
-When he doesn't want to do something, he says "no thank you mommy, not right now/I'm not ready yet." It's so cute I have a hard time arguing with him.
-The way he asks to wear his "undies"
-Through all the snot and coughing he still manages to tell him how much he loves me.
-Hunter emphasizes the "s" at the end of words. "Yeah-S, mommy"  -- Robert and I laugh in silent, as it is hilarious.
Sappy, but I don't want to forget these moments.

Baby Tres is a...

Baby #3 is a BOY!
Robert and I had so much fun waiting to find out whether this one was a boy or girl. The anticipation was killing us and we are glad we got to share the excitement with our families.
Feeling blessed to be a mom of (almost) three boys and look forward to watching them grow up close in age. Built in besties for sure!
After everyone left the party and we were laying in bed, it occurred to me that we could very well have been punked by the balloon guy. What if he pranked us and put the wrong confetti in? Hah!
Can't wait to meet you baby tres <3

Wild Man

This guy is such a KID lately. He is walking everywhere, getting a toddler 'tude, and not a baby anymore. He is seriously makes me laugh a million times a day. Such.a.boy.

Birthday Party

Last weekend we headed north to celebrate Rosie and Raymond's third birthdays. There was face paint, pinatas, cupcakes, and coloring. Hunter opted out of the face paint, but dove right into the pinata candy. Wyatt loved lunch and went for a rainbow on his face.
Such a fun day with friends!

First Dentist Appointment

Hunter had his very first dental appointment today. Happy to report we are cavity free! We recently bought him a power toothbrush, which he loves, and that has made brushing a lot of fun around here. He loves pushing the on/off button and and putting the toothpaste on.
We celebrated with a thrifty scoop of ice cream (tradition!) and came home for naps.
Nice job, Hunter!

16-18 weeks - Baby #3

Well I guess you could say I popped! The past two weeks have been pretty uncomfortable with lots of cramping and lack of sleep. I think the baby was just making itself a comfy house in there because I can definitely tell my belly has grown. I don't remember such a dramatic growth spurt in such a short amount of time happening with my last two pregnancies and I think my belly has caught up in size to where I was the last two times.

I still have headaches almost daily, wahhh. Drinking water is a big challenge, which likely contributes to the headaches, but if I drink a lot of water I feel nauseous - so there's that. Sleep is not great, but not terrible. I don't have a pregnancy pillow this time around, so I think a lot of my discomfort is positional. I am trying to get through without buying one because they are pricey and I don't know if I will ever need one again.

Exercise-wise I am doing more than I did the last two times around since I am home with the boys. I think I walked about 7 miles yesterday and I probably average about 3-5 miles per day, depending on what we are doing.

size of a bell pepper

We have our anatomy scan next Wednesday to make sure the baby is growing on track. This is the ultrasound where we would normally find out if the baby is a boy or a girl, BUT this time we are going to wait and find out with our families over the weekend. We'll ask the doctor to write the sex down on a piece of paper so we don't see it right then. I can't wait to share the excitement with my family and it is going to be hard not to have the doctor just tell us during the appointment.

Wyatt walks!

And now he walks! On May 9th, right after I posted about his 15 month check up, Wyatt started walking. I am so curious to see how this wild one does on his two feet and imagine life is about to get even crazier.

Go Wyatt!!

Mother's Day 2016

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. This year Opa hosted a brunch for all of the moms in our family, including extended family, and it was so nice!
I am so thankful to be a mom to Hunter and Wyatt and even more thankful that we are welcoming another little baby into our family. It is not always easy; in fact, this "season" is challenging for us with two toddlers, but the good by far outweighs the bad and I am happy to be called Mom.

Next year there will be three and I couldn't ask for more!

Thank you for a nice day filled with lots of love and thank you to my mom for everything you have done and continue to do for me!

15 months- Wyatt

On May 2nd Wyatt turned 15 months old. We took him to his 15 months wellness check up and here are his stats:

Weight: borderline 26lbs (86%)
Height: 32.5" (91%)
Head: 18.5cm (55%)

Likes: tackling his brother, knocking things over, his paci, fooooood...all the food, sleep + naps, his blanket..it's his baby, stroller walks, screeching, and climbing on everything.
Dislikes: diaper changes, getting splashed in the face in the bath, being ignored, and being hungry.
Wyatt is allllmost walking. He is trying so hard and can take steps unassisted, but isn't quite independent yet. He can crawl super fast and I can tell this is still his preferred mode of transportation, but his motivation to walk is strong. He is a top heavy guy, so getting his balance has been a struggle for him.
Wyatt has 10 teeth and he is popping molars right now (poor guy). His appetite is still strong and he will eat pretty much anything (aside from broccoli, no thanks). He is weaning off of his morning nap. I notice if he takes his morning nap, it's much harder for him to go down in the afternoon. Depending on the day he will still get the morning nap - it just depends what we are doing that day.
He is waving, blowing kisses, and clapping his hands on demand - so cute.
He talks a ton! Words include mama, dada, dog, window, I love you, thank you, down, all done, and mmmm. Also, a lot of screaming and babbling. This boy is loud.

Wyatt we love your always expressive faces and loud personality. You keep us on our feet and make us sweat a little, but we love you so much <3
