Open, close, open..empty

The joys of emptying drawers.
At least he thinks it's fun to put everything back!

Cruisin'

Auntie Koni bought Hunter a car for his birthday. It's designed to also be a walker, but Hunter never seemed interested - until now! He is very proud of himself when he walks around the house with his car, it's cute to watch. Proud of my boy, I wasn't sure when he was going to show an interest in walking!
And then he found the baby swing, yikes.

Baby #2 - 17 Weeks

This week flew by fast! Not much has changed, although it seems my belly disappeared today. My next doctors appointment is next Friday. Can't believe it will be my 18 week appointment - time is screaming by really fast these days. I feel pretty normal and starting to crave some veggies (thank god). I was beginning to worry I'd never be able to eat greens again. I am craving less carbs and more steamed veggies, whoohoo! I'm pretty sure this is what happened last pregnancy too.

In other news, today is national dog day. Thank you Cooper for being Hunter's stepping stool, tug of war toy, teething toy, compost bin, and sidekick. We couldn't have asked for a nicer dog!

Baby #2 - 16 Weeks

Four months pregnant and feeling good. I don't feel nauseous which is great! Baby is the size of an avocado (~4.5 inches long) and still pokes around in there occasionally. I am sleeping really well, but not feeling rested when I wake up. This morning we all slept until 7am - very unusual!

I am definitely looking bigger this pregnancy than last (although I weigh less, which is interesting) - see last pregnancy at 16 weeks here.

Gym Class

Gym class was so fun! Hunter loved the ropes course and even climbed through a tunnel. We are thinking about getting a membership since there are classes on Sat & Sun we could attend (plus open gym afterwards).
I noticed Hunter is becoming more comfortable standing by himself and I think a class like this will give him more confidence!

Teepee Time

Our gift to Hunter for his birthday was a teepee! I wanted to get him something that would be useful for years to come. I picture him reading and playing in his teepee with his brother/sister/playdates/etc.
Lately we've been having "teepee time" after dinner and before bed. A new trick Hunter learned in his teepee is how to put objects back where they came from. I never thought following a command would make me so happy, hah! He also learned to tell me what a monkey sounds like "oo oo ahh ahh" and gets super excited when I ask him to show me. Next up is learning what dogs say...

Baby #2 - 15 Weeks

Nothing much is new this week. Still feeling a bit tired and run down, but I think that is the reality of working full time and taking care of Hunter (and being pregnant). I am growing quickly and can feel the baby now. He/she is about 4in long and the size of an apple. Baby is tapping around in there which is a pleasant surprise. I didn't feel Hunter until 17 weeks!
In other news, this kid loves fruit! He saved the strawberries for last.
We took a trip down to farmers market in Palo Alto this morning and these flowers were stunning. They were so bright and pretty! Too bad we forgot cash. Hunter loved looking at everything and talking to himself while we cruised around..such a sweetie :))

Twelve Month Wellness Check

Today Hunter had his one year wellness check. He is right on track developmentally and the doctor said he was perfect.

Weight: 20lbs
Length: 30in
He is in the 20th percentile for weight and 60th percentile for height. The doctor made it clear that it is normal for babies to peak in weight at nine months and drop off at one year, due to an increase in activity. I think at his nine month check up he was 21lbs. Hard to believe since he eats so much! Other than that he had a couple of shots, both of which he took like a champ.
Our pediatrician said she is happy to see that he can say five words (dada, mama, dog, hola, and uh oh) and that she doesnt expect to see that until closer to 15 months. By his next wellness check (15 months) he should likely be walking and saying a few more words. All in all it was a great visit and we are grateful to have a healthy and happy kid :)

Hunter's First Birthday Party

Hunter's first birthday party was fun! I think I am still buzzing from all the sugar consumed. Hunter is way passed out from his adult sized sliced of cake he devoured and seemed to have a blast with his family and friends.
Towards the end I realized I hadn't taken any photos, but here are a few from my sisters cameras. Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate!

Baby #2 - 14 Weeks

I am unsure about when my weeks are turning over to the next. I actually think I am almost 15 weeks since the baby is measuring ahead, but whatever. After a call to the doctor for awful nausea this week, I was told to drink lots of gingerale and water. I am having a hard time drinking water, which is leading me to dehydration and headaches. The gingerale helped a bit, which led to an easier time drinking water - whoohoo, headaches be gone! I am still super tired but not as bad as I have been so I will take a leap and say I am feeling better.
I had a quick doctors appointment yesterday to check the baby's heartbeat and he/she was pumpin in there! Even my doctor raised his eyebrows at how loud the heartbeat was. Sounds good to me!
Well, Hunter just woke up (he is singing in his crib) so I better go grab him. It's party time!

Tahoe 2014

What a fun week! Our family trip to Tahoe is one of the special highlights of the year we look forward to. Last year Hunter was busy being born so we weren't able to be there, but this year we were all together again. So much fun! Hunter loved the pool, slept like a champ, and loved hanging with his O's, aunties, uncles, and cousins. He was spoiled rotten for his golden birthday with a new car, new clothes/jammies, cake, and a ton of love.
Our extended family was staying in the same neighborhood so we were able to get together for a few happy hours and some beach time - what a treat.
Thank you Oma and Opa for our summer Christmas gift. As always, we appreciate the generous gift and time with the family.

Baby #2 - 13 Weeks

This week we have been in Tahoe and it has been a blast. I haven't been feeling well, experiencing a lot of nausea and other early pregnancy symptoms, but hoping things will get better soon now that I am in the second trimester.

Baby is the size of a peach (~3 inches), can open and close fists, and make sucking movements.

We celebrated Hunter's 1st birthday by making personalized pizzas and a big birthday cake (thank you Haley!). Was fun to think about what we were doing during the day this time last year. He ended up sleeping really well after all the excitement :)
