Baby #2 - 34 Weeks

Merry Christmas Eve!
One more week down and I am happy to be spending this one with family. Leading up to Christmas has been a blur this year with all the activities going on, but I am excited the big day is here and can't wait to see Hunter experience Christmas as a toddler. He is still a little young, but more ready for Santa this year than he was last year.

hello big belly
In pregnancy news, I am feeling so ready to have the baby, but at the same time not ready at all. I hate complaining, but this time around the third trimester has exhausted every part of me and I am ready to feel like myself again. Insomnia and back pain have officially kicked in and I usually wake up around 2-3am, pain and dizziness seem to be daily.
Makes for long days, but with three-ish more weeks until maternity leave and Robert being done with school, I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
See 34 weeks last time here.

What's the baby up to?
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (about the size of a cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he's born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well.
By this week, fatigue has probably set in again (yep), though maybe not with the same coma-like intensity of your first trimester. Your tiredness is perfectly understandable, given the physical strain you're under and the restless nights (yep) of frequent pee breaks and tossing and turning, while trying to get comfortable.
Now's the time to slow down and save up your energy for labor day. If you've been sitting or lying down for a long time (I wish), don't jump up too quickly. Blood can pool in your feet and legs, causing a temporary drop in your blood pressure when you get up that can make you feel dizzy (yep).
