Seattle

We haven't taken this many pictures of ourselves since Hunter was born!
Robert surprised me with a trip to Seattle to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. He arranged for Gramie and Pop Pop to watch the kids and it was our first time away from both of them.

I didn't have time to think about the trip until literally the morning of, so I didn't realize how anxious I was to be leaving them! I definitely was not worried about them because I knew they were safe and in great hands, but driving to to airport I started to feel sick and anxious. After a few hours in Seattle and a good report from the grandparents we started to relax and enjoy the kid-free life.

We stayed at the Inn at the Market, which was smack dab in the middle of Pike Place - amazing. The first night we had drinks at The Pink Door and then headed over to Wild Ginger for a yummy Asian fusion dinner. We went back to our hotel after and immediately fell asleep, ahhhhh.

The second day we were up early (thank you natural wake up time) and checked out Pikes Place, the first ever Starbucks, The Space Needle, did some shopping downtown (got some boots at Nordy's), lunch at Artisan Cafe, spent the afternoon exploring the market, then packed a little wine in my bag and experienced the wheel at sunset :) We had dinner at Japonessa and walked the streets enjoying the fresh air. Again, hit the pillows early for a lovely night of sleep.

On Saturday we walked everywhere and soaked in our last day. We found a delicatessen that has all sorts of specialty beers and Robert was in heaven. We ordered some fancy sandwiches, bought a couple of beers, and ate lunch at the delicatessen. It was raining and it was fun to people watch (Saturdays are busy down there).

All in all it was so nice to recharge with Robert without the crazy distractions of work and kids. Thank you Gramie and Pop Pop for taking care of our household - we appreciate it and know the boys had a blast.

  1. It was the best weekend ever! ❤️❤️ Time with two of our favorite boys - cutest grandsons ever - and all the love, hugs and kisses we could squeeze into three days! My best moment: when I was tucking Hunter in and he said, "night night Gramie. I love you!" Walked away with my heart in my throat! Loved our time with the boys. We need to plan another trip soon! Thank you for entrusting us with such precious gifts! ❤️❤️
