33 Weeks

How far along? 33 weeks - 7 more to go, yikes!
Size: Size of a pineapple - and as we found out on Monday, he weighs 4.5lbs.
Maternity clothes? I've hit a belly growth spurt and my maternity tops are barely fitting these days.
Bath time
Symptoms: Exhaustion - I have slowed down a lot and am pretty tired by the early afternoon. I hope it's just an uncomfortable week and the coming weeks will be better, though I am not getting my hopes up. Sitting all day at work is challenging - with being tired, having tailbone pain, and on/off swelling. The baby feels like he is suffocating me and walking is the only thing that helps.
Sleep: Sleep is good for being eight months pregnant. I only wake up once or twice for added belly support or flipping to my other side. I usually fall right back asleep so it's no big deal. Cooper is crate trained now, so he isn't an issue.

Best moment this week: I've been loving our little family walks in the mornings and evenings together. Cooper continues to be a joy in our house and he forces me to get my pregnant butt up and walk throughout the day, which I love :)
Getting to see Baby A and hear that he is right on track. If he gains a half pound a week until his due date, as estimated, he will be about 8.5lbs at birth. Who knows though, I've heard so many times that those calculations are wrong.
All clean
Worst moment of the week: Hitting a pregnancy wall. This is the first week I've felt like I am ready to just have the baby already (except, I'm not really ready for that!). When the doctor told me the baby was breech it was pretty disappointing. I've been walking around the house on my hands and knees (which Cooper loves) and Robert has been helping me with inversions every night in hopes he will flip around.
Miss anything? Stomach sleeping. Also, I could use a big margarita.
Movement: All the time. I am still feeling painful pushing on my left side where his feet are, so I think he is sitting comfy in there.
Food cravings: Tegan's cinnamon bun cake...it's.so.gooood.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Too much food in one sitting.

Have you started to show yet: I am huge. I am also showing in my face, arms, and legs :)
Labor signs: None
Belly Button in or out? Flat-twisty-ish, but sometimes inny. It can't make up its mind.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Moody. Did I mention I am huge?
Looking forward to: The rocker for the nursery is being delivered tomorrow and I can't wait to see it. I am also looking forward to our Infant & Child CPR class on Thursday at the hospital. It's hard to believe that some of the things I put on our calendar so long ago are already here - so exciting!

Baby A, size of a pineapple

What's the baby up to?
  • Baby is around 17.5 inches in length.
  • The diameter of the head is about 8.5cm.
  • The baby fuzz, lanugo, is disappearing.
  • Your baby drinks about a pint of amniotic fluid a day.
  • You may gain a pound a week for the rest of your pregnancy.
  • Half of your weight gain will go directly to your baby.
The baby is using it's lungs to practice breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid. Your baby is drinking about a pint of amniotic fluid a day now and urinating the same amount. The early baby fuzz, lanugo, is disappearing now and being replaced by actual hair. The nails of your baby are now long enough to reach to the tip of the fingers or beyond and may need trimming as soon as they are born. They may scratch their face even before birth.
You may gain a pound a week for the rest of your pregnancy. Do not stop eating or start skipping meals as your weight increases. Both you and your baby need the calories and nutrition you receive from a healthy diet.
