32 Weeks

How far along? 32 weeks
Size: Weight of a large jicama (About lbs and 17 inches long)
Maternity clothes? Same stuff, loving my maxi dresses and maternity jeans. My favorite outfit is my target maternity tank (best $30 I've spent), skinny jeans, and a long cardigan. Maxi dresses are comfortable, but aren't really flattering at this point in my pregnancy <-- important when you feel huge!
Symptoms:
Lots of Braxton Hicks, tiredness, tailbone pain, and some swelling.

Sleep: With Cooper sleep wasn't great for a couple nights- but I can definitely blame it on him and not the baby. Tuesday night and Wednesday night were rough, but by Thursday night he slept (and so did we).

Best moment this week: Meeting Cooper! I was a ball of nerves, anxiety, and excitement all day Monday, but once we got him off the plane everything felt better. We love him so much and we are excited he is a part of our family now (Kenya is super excited too since she gets to munch on his dinner while he is distracted).

Worst moment of the week: When Cooper was on the airplane. I know he is just a dog, but I had some major guilt. Lucky for me, he came off the plane with his tail wagging and tongue hanging out - he was just as excited to see us as we were him.
Miss anything? Stomach sleeping and sleeping in general.
Best smile
Movement: Lots of pushing out on my sides and outward pressure. I know there is plenty of room in there for him, but it feels like he has none based on his movements. He is constantly stretching out and pushing. The best way to describe it is that he is doing yoga in there - so cute.
Food cravings: Coconut popsicles, fresh bread dipped in hummus
Anything making you queasy or sick: No

Have you started to show yet: I think the obvious answer at this point is yes. I officially feel like a huge pregnant girl! I don't think I waddle yet though, so that's a good thing.

Labor signs: Just lots of Braxton Hicks
Belly Button in or out? Flat
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Emotional, but happy! I am teary these days
Friends
Looking forward to: 32 week ultrasound on Monday - it's been 12 weeks exactly since we last saw him. Crossing my fingers baby is still a boy, head down, and is measuring on track. I have a feeling he is bigger than these apps are telling me :) Also looking forward to tomorrow's picnic in SF to honor Baby A! We are going to bring Cooper with us so it will be fun for some friends to meet him and for him to see the big city.

Baby A, weight of a large jicama
What's the baby up to?
  • Baby is 17 inches long and weighs 4 pounds.
  • The diameter of the head is almost 4 inches.
  • Under the skin the fat layer is getting thicker.
  • The toenails and fingernails are completely formed.
  • In boys, the testicles will be descending from the groin down into his scrotum.
During this time the baby sleeps most of the day (not sure about that..). The uterus is getting to be a small space for the baby to move about, so you may have noticed a decrease in your baby's movements. The baby is still trying to move frequently but it just does not have enough room. The baby will turn its head from side to side and move its hands.
As space in your uterus becomes more cramped, your baby's kicks and other movements may seem less forceful.
Are you waddling? This is because the ligaments in your pelvis have softened, allowing your hips to spread in preparation for birth.
